I haven’t been able to get a positive test even when it’s clear that I have it. The first time I had it, tests weren’t generally available yet. In August, my second time, I tried a home test when I felt something coming on. I then went in to a nurse practitioner at a pharmacy (my doctor of decades having retired); no positive result there either. But I had told her I wasn’t there for a rapid test, because rapid tests give a lot of false negatives. Then she looked surprised when I asked if they had any PCR tests there to give. Duh. I’m thinking she didn’t know how to process a PCR; the “result” I got from that was something like “inconclusive” while the other person in the house where I live had tested positive and was on Paxlovid. And I was trying to do what is highly recommended: find out early. I found out they hardly care. I went home and collapsed for days. I’m vaccinated, so that really makes me wonder… while I was very mildly affected the first time (when vaccines weren’t available yet).

I really think Covid is scared of you Marleen. You must have this built-in ‘scare’ factor which it finds very confronting. It’s looking for a nice home and you’re depriving it. Well you keep depriving it. Little buggers…….

Are you testing yourself, every day? Or are you going in to an office, to be tested, every day?

Day 7 first home test positive. Will home test each day. They are def pos and I still have minor symptoms so know test is reliable……

I do think the positives are more reliable generally. Also, of course, if you have symptoms… that tells you something. Sounds like you’re getting better, though. So… that’s great.
