This Covid’s Driving Me Nuts

Trapped inside by Covid
Lockdown’s sending me insane
Jack and Jill went up the hill
And Billy’s rocks went down the drain

      1. I haven’t been able to get a positive test even when it’s clear that I have it. The first time I had it, tests weren’t generally available yet. In August, my second time, I tried a home test when I felt something coming on. I then went in to a nurse practitioner at a pharmacy (my doctor of decades having retired); no positive result there either. But I had told her I wasn’t there for a rapid test, because rapid tests give a lot of false negatives. Then she looked surprised when I asked if they had any PCR tests there to give. Duh. I’m thinking she didn’t know how to process a PCR; the “result” I got from that was something like “inconclusive” while the other person in the house where I live had tested positive and was on Paxlovid. And I was trying to do what is highly recommended: find out early. I found out they hardly care. I went home and collapsed for days. I’m vaccinated, so that really makes me wonder… while I was very mildly affected the first time (when vaccines weren’t available yet).

      2. I really think Covid is scared of you Marleen. You must have this built-in ‘scare’ factor which it finds very confronting. It’s looking for a nice home and you’re depriving it. Well you keep depriving it. Little buggers…….

      1. I do think the positives are more reliable generally. Also, of course, if you have symptoms… that tells you something. Sounds like you’re getting better, though. So… that’s great.
