Where have all our trees gone
In 10 years of infill?
We have to pack the people in
So trees we have to kill
Trees and green surroundings
Climate change combat?
We need them for well-being
Mentally, all that
Wholesale destruction of our trees
Must stop, must not go on
Premier and Minister
Are you listening?….
No?….
Our ‘growth-at-all-costs’ policy
is more important

As poet I can write concerns
Upon the screen you see
But people in authority
Won’t heed my poetry
Your task it is to document
What you hear and see
But poet you won’t change the world

I was hearing on the radio this morning about the hundreds of thousands of acres of Brazilian rain forest being destroyed every year.
