It is actually called ‘pearling’ a form of body modification that is also popular among automobile tires.

  Thankyou for that information. I’m sure it must be an American idea. Our tyres are more conservative and would say how could they disfigure themselves so. I tend to agree with them. Then again Tref what do they say? …each to his own
