There’s not enough of silly
Silly on the net
It’s all too deep and serious
(Most that I’ve read/met)
I do at times like serious
(As titled in my site)
But interest, no, in serious
Every day and night

I love Spike: the professor of Absurdity; his little ditty about rain is a classic ð

Yes, to me the mark of a good poet is to compress what they want into as few lines as possible…. just how I feel

Thankyou…..I keep looking for sillies like me but they seem to be a dead breed. All too serious and somber John. Doom and gloom flavour of the month. Oh? Lockdown induced? You’re excused then…..

I agree, Don: too much seriousness; keep up the absurdity —I am doing my little bit — we sorely need it ð

Maybe its easier to write serious than nonsense/absurd..(and make it work)…..like poets shy away from rhyme because writing good rhyme is not easy…..easier to write prose….

I think you’re right, Don: that’s why I admire stand-up so much, the sharpness of the observation, the pinpointing the absurdity in our routines —

Good ol’ Spike. He told us he was ill, but did we listen…

That’s right, he said he was ill and everyone thought it was a joke….sad
