Granny Tennis Racquet

FCS focuses on promoting humour,
offbeat poetry and exploring things different

I am a granny tennis racquet
My kids have pensioned me
Pushed out by the new breed
I’m on the shelf now, see?

My picture here is on your screen
I have a wooden frame
My strings are real live gut ones
Before these plastics came

The new breed now have cool frames
To tennis crowds enthrall
With strings that snap like lightening –
I’m sorry for the ball
