I Have an Addled Brain

I am a flippant poet

Engaged in flippancy

Not always do I follow

Rules of diplomacy

Refusing of correctness

Political that is

I’ll do my thing regardless

‘Cause that’s the way I is

OK I may get addled

And have a brain that’s shot

I can’t complain about it

It’s what God had, I got

My way of stringing words

Together may sound strange

To me it sounds like music

To you perhaps off-range

So I will flippancy right on

Politic incorrect

You’ll have to just put up with me

My addled intellect

We’re glad you don’t complain

About your addled brain

It is what makes you interesting

And us come back again
