Death of the Aussie Larrikin?

I lament about the changing nature
Of acceptable mischief and fun
In society that is losing the sense of
The Australian larrikin son

Once upon a time, the Australian larrikin spirit
was acknowledged, tolerated, and even celebrated

Where does the word larrikin come from?

The term comes from British dialect larrikin
‘a mischievous or frolicsome youth’,
ultimately a form of larking (about)
 ‘indulging in mischievous fun’.
