This Insane Place I’m In

Can’t fly back to my country
Completely out of luck
Flights are banned from entering
This insane place, I’m stuck

We’re running out of oxygen
Running out of tests
Burning bodies everywhere
Don’t know what to do best?

They let us gather, thousands
Without the need of masks
This is insane governing
Not mandating masks

Lining up at polling booths
Social distancing
Just goes out the door allowing
Covid do its thing

    1. I find rhyme works best for me when using it for humour. I am not as comfortable when using it for serious subjects as this. It’s the message I want to get across and rhyme comes automatic to me. Prose does not. So I do the best I can…….
