  1. I have one of those! But mine has an extra ring and it peels, cores and slices. Really handy for making apple pies or dried apple – it gets a lot of use every March when apples are in season and there’s a glut. Stabbing the apple onto that thing, turning, and then just two cuts, and you have an apple worth of slices ready for the dryer. Way, way quicker than peeling and slicing by hand, especially when you’re preserving a hundred odd apples or more. But I can see that it’s up there with pasta machines for the kitchen dilettante. 🙂
