I often find myself
Skating on thin ice
Hoping I don’t fall in
In and pay the price
But then as poet why should I
Not write what I think/see
Is that not what a poet’s for
To write and be carefree?
I’m not content to always skate
Within my comfort zone
I need to push some boundaries
My poetry to hone
SPLASH…..shit!

If you’re afraid of the thin ice you shouldn’t be out there! Who cares about a splash or two…

Thin-ice skating adds spice.. Staying on comfort-zone solid ice is not where a poet should stay all the time IMO

I like this one; I like this one: I like the wisdom, I like the humour and the not unexpected twist at the end 🙂

Thanks John…..interesting how ‘twists’ can develop as one writes….
