Land rush ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ

The Oklahoma land rushย is one of the most mind boggling moments in American history. On April 22, 1889, at high noon, the Oklahoma territory was opened up for sale. Close to 50,000 people rushed through the area to buy up two million acres of land that was just waiting to be picked over.ย

Settlers didn’t even have to put money down on the 160 acre lots. All they had to do was stake a claim, live there, and promise that they would improve the area. It didn’t take long for the entire territory to be picked up.
