FCS Daily Music Video – ‘Digital Love’ (Daft Punk) The Royal Concept

The Royal Concept is a Swedish rock band founded in Stockholm in 2010. It currently consists of lead vocalist and guitarist David Larson, guitarist Filip Bekic, bassist Magnus Robert, and drummer Povel Olsson

Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 in Paris by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Often considered one of the most influential acts in dance music history, they achieved popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement.

They later began experimenting with drum machinessynthesisers and the talk box. From 1999, they assumed robot personas with helmets, outfits and gloves for public appearances to preserve their identities; they made few media appearances. They disbanded in 2021.

The track is known for the solo featured prominently on its second half. Thomas Bangalter revealed that the solo was created using a mixture of elements, aided by music sequencers. “No one plays solos in their songs anymore, but we wanted to include some on the album.”

Lyrics below

Below the lyrics is David Escobar’s interpretation on guitar of the synth solo.

Last night I had a dream about you
In this dream I’m dancing right beside you
And it looked like everyone was having fun
the kind of feeling I’ve waited so long

Don’t stop, come a little closer
As we jam the rhythm gets stronger
There’s nothing wrong with just a little, little fun
We were dancing all night long

The time is right
To put my arms around you
You’re feeling right
You wrap your arms around too
But suddenly I feel the shining sun
Before I knew it this dream was all gone

Oh, I don’t know what to do
About this dream and you
I wish this dream comes true

Oh, I don’t know what to do
About this dream and you
We’ll make this dream come true

Why don’t you play the game?
Why don’t you play the game?
