Conversation with my muse


I tried to write a funny rhyme…
I hope I didn’t blow it:
What do you know of comedy
You’re just a tortured poet?

I’m strung out on my fainting couch
With a bout of neurasthenia
I tried to faint then cried out ‘ouch’
Someone’s already been here…’

Who invaded your sanctuary
Realm of the tortured poet?
The kids toys: plastic statuary
-I have the bruise to show it!
