The Twilights were an Australian rock band that formed in Adelaide in 1964. Alongside The Easybeats and The Masters Apprentices, The Twilights are widely considered to be one of the most significant Australian rock groups of the 1960s. During their run, they were noted for being on top of current musical trends, regularly covering British and American rock hits in their early repertoire.
Lyrics below
What’s wrong with the way I live
The way I use my time
People should live their lives
Leaving me to mine, leaving me to mine
I’m a man who is defending
All his rights to live in peace
And my job is never ending for me
Ever since I was a young man
People tried to get at me
Tried to bring me down and hurt me
And I’m losing, losing
What’s wrong with the way I live
The way I use my time
People should live their lives
Leaving me to mine, leaving me to mine
[Break]
They persist in rearranging
All my days to suit them best
But the future will be changing for me
I’m a man who is defending
All his rights to live in peace
And my job is never ending
But they’re losing, losing
What’s wrong with the way I live
The way I use my time
People should live their lives
Leaving me to mine, leaving me to mine
And they’re losing
