C’est La Vie

Some people start to follow
Keen as keen can be
Simply vanish, disappear
Oh well, c’est la vie

Others press the ‘follow’
Button to watch me
I wait for likes and comments (none)
Oh well, c’est la vie

Why bother to press ‘follow’
It makes no sense to me
If no backup with comments/likes
Oh well c’est la vie

  1. I think there’s a degree of self-interest in such online interactions as ‘follows’ and ‘likes’ – people give others attention, hoping to receive some for themselves. Sometimes they hit, sometimes they miss… but there’s always a chance that somebody will notice them.

  2. If you think it’s bad on WordPress you should try Twitter 🤣 try not to worry too much about likes and follows: just love what you do! I’ve been up since 4am rocking my schedule 😅

  3. Seems to be a common thread. COVID has people so bored, they’ve taken “social” to sites where that is not the main intention? To comment, we’re talking investing energy and brainpower, you know? You stumble into an answer or solution, I can think of at least four other serious bloggers who’d pay postage and handling…

  4. Follow means a certain commiment to read, in my view. Sometime I unfollow if I find I am unable to keep up the reading or the content does not interest me anymore. I guess some just follow for exchange a follow back to create a false sense of pupularity in follower numbers.

      1. I guess it depending on individuals. When I follow I read. I do appreciate my following readers read my posts. If they don’t, they don’t. I consider blogging is a selfish thing, for me anyway. I blog for myself 😂

      2. Yes, I do it mainly for my own amusement although occasional pats on the back are nice. What i can’t understand are those who press follow and you never hear from them again. What’s the point of following ?
